Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions volunteer admins, coaches, and parents ask most often. Can't find what you need? Email us.
Getting started
How long does it take to set up a league?
Most volunteer admins finish the setup wizard in under 10 minutes. You add the league name, sport, age groups, season dates, and registration fee. Teams and players can be added in bulk via CSV or one at a time.
Who uses Go LeagueReady, and on what device?
Three roles, each with its own view. League admins run everything from the web dashboard. Coaches use the Go LeagueReady mobile app, built for the sideline. Parents can use either the web or the mobile app to follow their child's team. See the Mobile app section for details.
Can I migrate from TeamSnap, SportsEngine, or LeagueApps?
Yes. You can import teams, players, and schedules via CSV. We are building one-click importers for TeamSnap and SportsEngine, contact support if you need help with a migration this season.
Mobile app
Is there a mobile app?
A native iPhone app for coaches and parents is coming summer 2026 and is included in your trial the moment it ships. Coaches enter scores, manage their roster, and message their team from the sideline. Parents follow the schedule, standings, and their child's stats; push notifications (such as goal alerts) activate once the app is live in the App Store. League admins run the league from the web dashboard today.
Do coaches use the app or the web dashboard?
Coaches use the mobile app. A coach is usually a volunteer parent working from the sideline on a phone, not from a desk, so the coach experience is built for mobile. The web dashboard is for league admins.
How do coaches and parents sign in to the app?
With email and password. The first time, an invited coach (or a parent who registered a child publicly) receives an email with a “Set your password” link, picks a password, and signs in. On the mobile app the sign-in screen is email + password, and “Forgot password” sends a one-tap recovery email. A parent who registered a child has their children attached to their account automatically.
Is there an Android version?
The first release is iPhone-only. An Android version follows based on demand.
Does it work on iPad?
The app is designed for iPhone. It runs on iPad in iPhone compatibility mode, so a coach can still score a game from an iPad. A dedicated iPad layout is a future update.
Pricing & payments
What does it cost?
Two plans: Community ($49/month) for one league with up to 250 active players, and Club ($99/month) for unlimited leagues and players. Both plans include unlimited teams, coaches, and parents. Community includes one league administrator; Club supports multiple league administrators. 14-day free trial, and annual billing is 2 months free.
How are registration payments collected?
Through Stripe Connect. Parents pay registration fees directly to your league's Stripe account, we do not touch the money. There is no platform fee on top of Stripe's standard processing rate (typically 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction). You keep 100% of every dollar parents pay.
Can parents pay by check or cash?
Yes. Admins can manually mark a player as paid for cash or check payments. The dashboard tracks all payment statuses in one place.
Are refunds supported?
Full refunds via Stripe with one click. Refund reason is captured for your records.
Do you offer a money back guarantee?
Yes. If Go LeagueReady isn't right for your league in the first 30 days of any paid plan, email support@goleagueready.com and we refund every dollar. No retention call, no forms. You keep full CSV exports of your data either way.
Children's data & safety (COPPA)
Do you collect information from children under 13?
We do not collect information directly from children. Player profiles for minors are created by an authenticated parent, guardian, or league administrator who confirms they have authority to provide that information. We follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Do you display photos of children?
No. Go LeagueReady never displays, stores, or accepts uploads of children's photos. Team logos and adult coach photos are supported, but player profiles never include images.
Can a parent delete their child's information?
Yes. A parent can delete their child's profile at any time from the mobile app (Settings → Children), from the parent dashboard, by asking the league admin to remove the player, or by emailing privacy@goleagueready.com. The record and its match stats, season stats, and personally-addressed notifications are removed immediately from the live database; backups are purged or anonymized within 30 days.
What data do you collect about a player?
First name, last name, date of birth (for age group placement), jersey number, t-shirt size, allergies (optional, for safety), parent/guardian contact, and emergency contact. That is everything. No social security numbers, no addresses, no medical history beyond allergies.
Coaches, parents & messaging
How do I invite a coach?
Send an invite from the Coaches page. The coach receives an email link to create an account. Coaches can only see their assigned team, they cannot view league-wide data.
Can parents message my coaches?
Parents can read AND post in the team chat for their child's team. Parents cannot start a direct message; only league admins can initiate a DM. This prevents the inbox flood that volunteer admins typically face.
Are background checks supported?
Yes, with a direct Checkr integration. Each league supplies its own Checkr API key in Settings (write-only on our side), and the dashboard handles submission, status polling, and the 365-day expiry. Checkr bills the league admin directly for each screening (typically $25-35); Go LeagueReady takes nothing on top.
Per-coach status (none, invited, pending, approved, expired, failed) is shown on every coach card. Admins who prefer a different provider can still mark the status manually instead of using Checkr.
Security & data
Where is my data hosted?
On infrastructure in the United States: Vercel for the web app, Render for the API, Supabase for the managed PostgreSQL database and authentication, and Supabase Storage for uploaded files (team logos, coach photos). All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. See our Subprocessors page for the full list by function.
Do you sell data?
No. We never sell personal information. We do not run advertising. Our entire revenue comes from the monthly subscription you pay.
What happens if I cancel?
You can export all your data (rosters, schedules, results, payment history) as CSV before canceling. The live records are removed immediately on account deletion; backups are purged or anonymized within 30 days. Aggregate analytics that contain no personal information may be retained. Financial records (payment receipts, tax artifacts) are kept for the period required by US tax law.
